Our client requested that we plant a screening hedge and a number of trees. We discussed the species and agreed with the client that a native hedge of blackthorn, spindle, dogwood would work best.In order to protect the the hedge and tree planting we installed fencing which has been treated to prevent rot. We used the tracked ProTech fencing machine so that the grass in the paddock would not be damaged. A set of new estate access gates finished off the job rather nicely.
The planting was carried out by our team with every plant carefully placed by hand and protected with a guard against rabbits and other animals who could damage the young whips. The trees were carefully planted by the team using soil improver, stakes to secure them and water pipes to the root ball to encourage root growth down and not up. A dressing of mulch on the top also helped prevent weeds and retain moisture.
