Noll Services has recently added a new wildlife habitat to a West Berkshire farm by installing a traditional dew pond, blending modern construction with historic practice. The work began with careful leveling of the site before the pond was excavated and fitted with a heavy duty liner. Final ground works ensured the liner was securely embedded and concealed.

The new dew pond will not only provide a valuable water source but also create a diverse habitat, supporting aquatic species and attracting a variety of birds. Traditionally, dew ponds were built on hilltops or exposed sites to capture dew for livestock during dry periods, a practice dating back centuries. Today, these ponds are celebrated for their ecological benefits as well as their historical significance.
